MUSIC: California Fusion. This program examines the national styles that have influenced our musical palette in California. Like our food, our musical palette is an amalgam of European, Asian, and Mexican styles. AVE looks at the close influences of French, English, Swedish, Mexican, Russian, and Asian styles on our musical identity, through a program of early and contemporary choral works by Francis Poulenc, Ralph Vaughn Williams, Fredrik Sixten, Carlo Gesualdo, and others.
